As you know, I recently co-hosted some of the activities during the Apsara Conference in Hangzhou. Among them, the Apsara Entertainment area. This is where I found myself, standing before a semicircle of 100 synchronized cameras, ready to jump into the world of 6DoF.
What is 6DoF?
Short for “Six Degrees of Freedom”, 6DoF captures both position and rotation, offering a more immersive experience. It’s the technology that turns static moments into dynamic, interactive visual wonders. Remember that cool 3D effect in “The Matrix”? Well, this is it.
The 6DoF Showcase
A semicircle of 100 cameras capturing every detail of movement. Positioned strategically, they create the iconic “Bullet Time” effect. The trampoline in front of me invited, and with a leap, I became part of a 180-degree visual masterpiece myself!. The cameras in sync worked their magic, freezing the moment in time while allowing a dynamic exploration of the scene.
As I jumped on the trampoline, the cameras recorded the moment, a “dance with technology” you can say.
